Introduction
As AYSO players get older, many join leagues or high school soccer teams looking for more soccer experience. AYSO’s 14U/16U/19U Program gives teenage athletes another choice for competitive play. The program is organized under the rules and bylaws of AYSO philosophies and policies, but with a few adjustments to make it more enjoyable and accessible for teenagers. The U14/16/19 program is different than the standard program in a few ways: coed teams are allowed, there are more flexible guidelines for player substitution. In addition, teams play against other AYSO regions in the Chicago area.
The ability for the MG AYSO to form teams is dependent on having sufficient kids sign up and recruiting volunteers to coach and referee for the season. It is not uncommon for the MG AYSO to partner with nearby AYSO regions in order to form a full roster.
Location
Home games for 14U, 16U & 19U games are held at Frank Hren Park and away games are held at various AYSO fields in the Chicago area. Practice location will vary by team.
Game Day
14U, 16U & 19U games are held on Sundays during the fall and spring seasons. Practice days will vary by team.

- Uniform jersey, shorts and socks (a uniform set will be distributed by the Team Parent to all players)

The Season
MG AYSO Region plays a fall season and a spring season, each consisting of eight weeks. The emphasis of the program is on regular season play for enjoyment and recreation. We do not post results or standings, there is no ranking of teams and there is not a season ending play-off or all-star game.
Games
Each game is slotted for one hour. Games are made up of four quarters, with a halftime, with a running clock which is kept by the referee on the field. Each player should arrive early in order to warm up and go through a safety review before the start of the game in order to start the game on time.
Practices
Players who register assume an obligation to attend all games each season and also to attend at least one practice per week, the time and location of which is to be determined by the coach. Players who cannot make this commitment will miss out on the learning of essential skills, strategies taught, and the enjoyment of playing soccer with their teammates. Each player should arrive on time, and be picked up on time.
